Thanks Bob for dropping by!
Personally when I found out Bob Dylan was playing in Oshawa; I just had to be there. It has been 25 years since I had been to a concert, so I went with my sister and nephew. I did not know what to expect. What we received was an awesome show. Bob and his band were fantastic. Everything was great, the set list, the sound, the venue, and our seats.
To have an opportunity to see this musician play for more than two hours straight is amazing, the live renditions of his songs both new and old were great. His catalogue of songs is so large, I look forward to the next time he passes by this way, to hear him again. On the weekend I visited HMV and they had a large selection of Bob Dylan CD’s on sale for ten dollars each, I picked up seven for my collection.
Thanks again Bob for dropping by!

Would it be too much to play 1-3 songs on the acoustic guitar?

I was in attendence in Oshawa and I thoroughly enjoyed the show. Hey Bob, how about playing the acoustic on at least one song per night. I think the crowd would love and remember that moment forever? I'm reading your Book (Down the Highway) and I know you don't really conform to what the crowd wants. Truthfully, I'm not sure if I'd go back knowing that you were just going to play the keyboard. Your enthusiasm on stage was great and the energy in the arena was moderately high. If you had of played one or three songs on the guitar I think the crowd would have went bezerk.... Also,I've never seen you play the acoustic live...... That would be my wish.

Bob's the high priest

Every time I see Dylan perform I'm knocked out. This was an excellent show. He seemed to respond to Paul James' playing right off the bat and my experience is that if Bob is getting off, we all do. Amazing re-working of SImple Twist of Fate and Desolation Row was remarkable. The band was really tight and seemed like an extension of Dylan; changing pace, tempo and tone with every slight signal from the master . He continually reveals new facets of his talent. What an artist!

Bob Rocked last night

This is only my second time seeing Bob. The first was this summer in Hamilton. This was a super good show! I liked seeing Bob step out from behind the keyboard and doing a couple harmonica solos. The songs were great like last time. I don't really know Paul James, but I certainly noticed the guitar work in those first few numbers. It also looked like Bob was enjoying it too.

Thanks for coming back so soon Bob!

Excellent show - Bob still rocks!!!

A truly excellent show last night!! I've seen Bob before although not in 20 years (long story) - and he and the band laid out a solid show for us. Not gonna repeat what's already been said here, but some great highlights for me. Desolation Row - what an awesome reading of the tune! Brought to mind some of the phrasing from Shelter From the Storm - just fantastic.

A great Nettie Moore (also on my wish list for the show), a rocking Highway 61 and Rolling Stone near the end and what a kick-ass romp through Watchtower to finish things off! I could keep going - the Blood on the Tracks material was great, the band was very tight and Bob was in fine voice. A living legend for a reason - thanks Bob!!

Paul James guesting for the first five on back to back gigs

Back to back nights Bob Dylan has Paul James on guitar replacing Denny Freeman and Stu Kimball for the first five songs of the concert. It was less appealing the second time through, I suppose there was a little bit of uncertainty the first night not knowing whether or not Denny and Stu were going to come out or not in London that was not there in Oshawa. That said it was nice to see James play four different songs from the previous night, with the only repeat being "The Levee's Gonna Break."

It was great to see Dylan & His Band open the concert with "The Wicked Messenger" as the last time I have seen it live was in Buffalo at Shea's on April 13, 2005. It was only the second time I have ever heard "Man in the Long Black Coat" which interestingly was also on the same day I last saw "The Wicked Messenger." Another song I had not gotten in a while was "'Til I Fell in Love with You" which lo and behold I last heard in Buffalo on February 23, 1999, Bob looked great up front remaking this 'Time Out of Mind' song into a out and out blues number.

I absolutely love how Dylan is performing "Desolation Row" this year and tonights performance of the song was very much one of the highlights as it was at SPAC earlier in the year. Other highlights of the night for me was the Paul James slide on "High Water (for Charlie Patton)" as well as 'Blood on the Tracks' songs "Tangled Up in Blue" and "Simple Twist of Fate." It was also nice to hear "Nettie Moore" nearing the end of the show after seeing "Ain't Talkin'" near the end for my three straight previous shows.

Finally it is a coincidence, yet to hear Bob end with "All Along the Watchtower" on back to back nights is all the more powerful in retrospect when Jimi Hendrix Experience drummer Mitch Mitchell was found dead on Wednesday morning in a Portland hotel room at 61. Rest in peace Mitch.

Here's hoping that Dylan does not decide to do "Mississippi" in Sudbury as I have to miss the gig. Though it would be nice if Bob pulled it out in Kingston on Saturday.

Great Show Tonight!

Great show tonight. It was my first time seeing Bob and it was a good time, for sure. Just for the record the second
tune tonight was an excellent 'Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues' not 'Just Like a Woman' as listed above. The rest of the setlist is correct. Anyways, can't wait to see Bob play
again sometime.

I can't believe Bob Dylan is coming to Oshawa. I mean really, Oshawa of all places!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't even know what cd tour this would be. The concert is for Nov 12 and I just found out about it yesterday (october 29) quite by accident. Went right away and got tickets. Have waited forever to see Bob Dylan in concert!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
