Aloha Bob Dylan and His Band

No Rating

What an outstanding show in Sudbury, Canada, and there was no other reason to travel from the warm of Hawaii (except for business down south).

The second song, "Mr. Tambourine Man," completely blew me away. Wow. Moving. I'm tough, but, man, that almost broke me down right there and then.

The band was unreal and top notch professional. Taking pride in precision.

Watching and listening to Dylan in concert, (it having been my first Dylan concert ever,) was like listening to God through Dylan's voice and lyrics. Powerful.

For all those who admire Dylan, I can now see why.

For all those who have not seen this professional, you just have to see the legend.

Bob Dylan.

Well in fact I was front row center....and what an experience that was...I've seen Dylan a few times so I really wanted those seats because Ive never been that close...And wow what a great show
the highlights for me were Tambourine Man, Girl From the North Country, Dylan on the guitar right in my face, and Love sick...But I have to say it was a solid set list...This was one of the best night every for me...it was nice to see Dylan talkin' with his band and making some last minute set changes...he is still a great performer even at his age...WOW what show...cant wait for the next one

Excellent Experience

Having been a Dylan fan for many years, I was really looking forward to the concert experience and it didn't disappoint. From new songs to old, there weren't any low points to be found here. Having read that Dylan sometimes played organ through most concerts, I was very pleasantly surprised to see him take the guitar and rock out with the band on a few songs. "Most Likely You Go Your Way And I'll Go Mine" was a highlight for me as he sang and danced across the stage with just the microphone and harp in hand.

As much as I enjoyed the performance, I was disappointed with some of the crowd. We had some annoying teenagers around us who seemed to be drunk and made nuissances of themselves until they finally left halfway through the show. During the show, you could hear a murmur from the crowd as people were talking during the songs. I find this very disrespectful to any performer. Why anyone would pay for a ticket and proceed to talk during the performance is beyond me.

I look forward to seeing more Dylan concerts in the future and this time it will be front and center. Five stars all the way!

This is the 15th Canadian Dylan show my wife and I been to in the last few years (we've seen a lot of Canada we wouldn't have otherwise). Most riveting performance we've seen. Bob was centre stage on the guitar for three songs. Much stronger guitar performance than the 3 BC concerts earlier in this tour. Highlight was High Water - guitar and vocals at centre stage; then romping back and forth to jam with the rest of the band.
Bob was centre stage again on "Till I Fell in Love with You" - he was having fun mixing harmonica and vocals on every phrase - still grin when I think of that.
Tight Sudbury security kept the front row seated but that allowed the whole floor audience to remain engaged in what was one of Mr. Dylan's most captivating concerts we've attended.

Another Great Show

Loved the performance again. Much different from the Sault show. My wife and I sat in row four beside two children no more than ten years old with their parents and they were right
into the concert. It was priceless. Please come back to
Northern Ontario.

My eleven year-old son accompanied me to the concert last night. And what a night. It was an emotionally charged and masterful show. Thank-you Mr. Dylan. Thank-you for last night, for a lifetime of music, and especially for coming to this part of the world and inspiring my son. You are a true friend to humanity. There is a small piece of Bob in North Bay today. Thank-you.

Great Show. I was worried about sound quality, but those fears were remedied by the setup. Dylan, as always these days, was masterful. The set was a liitle short, but what fan wouldn't say that. Lots of more recent stuff, with a heavy dose of Time Out of Mind and Modern Times. Positively 4th street and Tambourine man were treated with unconventional arrangements. North Country was soft and special, directed to the community. Working man Blues #2 drew a great reaction from the crowd. Dylan seemed to tailor the list the the blue collar crowd. His 60's stuff seemed to excite those in attendance the most, but the versions were so different and sensitive or angular, that they were like new songs. Dlyan sang the same verse twice in Most Likely, but I don't think it was noticed by many. His band is so good! They traet each song like a living thing, changing time and phrasing on the merest nod from Dylan. The Man's Organ work is now quite good. A solo in love sick blew me away. Great show. Nothing from the playlist was rare but everything was given star treatment and racous style. Simply the best show in this town.
