....almost a month later
and i am still thinking about the show. my mind shoots immediately 2 how beautiful and lovely bob dylan looks up close. his soft pale green stage-sparkled shirt and tie with diamonds on both hands just floors me. i didnt start out down there at his feet but, lo and behold my body found its way there by the show's end.
in fact the best part of a bob dylan show is seeing all the long time peeps year after year and enjoying the concert with them high up in the nose-bleed rafters where we can really hoot and hollar and dance and have fights and beer thrown at us... well enuff of this mayhem and foolishness i headed 2 my seat in the orchestra right after beyond the horizon... i was pulled there actually by an electromagnetic force stronger than my own. it got its power after every love song, as mine dwindled like being hit by kryptonite and by the third (gotta serve somebody, tomorrow is a long time, beyond the horizon) i was dancing in the fifth row. i guess after a certain time period it is politically corrrect 2 rush the stage and in fact i invited by security 2 do it now somewhere inbetween bob dylan slinging more of cupids arrows directly at my heart with make u feel my love and spirit on the water.
by the time i was invited 2 the rail bob dylan owned me.
i was helpless and had 2 totally surrender 2 the music......sigh, now i sit here in the pre-dawn light with my 15 pound pocket beagle snoring louder than a 350 pound man and all i can hear is this show loud and clear in my mind, trying 2 figure out how i can get free of this bondage or if i even want 2..........?????

Show was GREAT. Venue was really cool and the band was dead on. Mr. Dylan is truly a performer's performer. Thanks Bob for another year of great shows......
United Palace Theater
Was lucky enough to have second row seats and be within 30ft of a legend. Have now seen him twice and both times were magical. When a person with his presence sits on stage and performs there is nothing more you can do than be awed. The one thing I would love to see is him sit up there one more time with nothing more than an acoustic guitar for one song. Can't wait to see him again.
It was a wonderful show.
I really did enjoy seeing Mr. Dylan at the United Palace Theater. I can't wait to see him again. Bob Dylan is always an awesome person to see perform. I love his voice and the way he plays his guitar.
Absolutely Bob!

Ive luved this man since the 60's and tonight was the best show Ive seen this year. The United Palace Theatre was an experience in itself, and Bob just took it to another level.
He was animated, and luving the moment... treating us to some electric guitar, and playing a mean harp. Missing my regular Dylan Concert Partner, Rob, was the only empty part of the night. However, my friend Jen and I made it a girlz night out, finishing off , eating some Aroz con Pollo, at the local eatery (Mambi) across the street. And, as always...talking about the "next" concert!...
Bob Dylan, so loved and admired.... If you are reading this, Happy Holidays..

What amazing night it was, still thinking about it and have been all weekend. Myfirst concert to see Bob perform in person , although I crew up with his musicin Scandinavia being only about 11 years younger or so, had never seen him. Myseat was in the N raw, amazing I even got it as I had lots of trouble with thewebsite, thanks to my roommate finally being able to access through her computer. I thought I knew all the songs, but honestly did have trouble recognizing some or hearing, but people sitting next to me were experts, ..veryDylanesk ..I was helped. Anyway, my favorite Ain't Talkin and loved the part seeing Bob having a good time, that sexy leg and doing his shuffle and oh migoodness, the man is beautiful inside and out, and the band was great too. Thanks for coming to NY! The trip home on the A train was effortless, we allshared warm connection in a cold NYC night. It was really cool evening, had agreat time. -Maret

This was my second time seeing Bobman (first time was this past summer in Brooklyn!) and I had a blast - though for the life of me I cannot understand HOW people can sit through any concert, let alone Bob's show - i mean he is 67 and put it ALL out there and gave an awesome show with his band and people were snapping at me to sit down in the orchestra seats - really people give the man some credit!
other than that i loved the set list (opening center stage with Gotta Serve Somebody sent me into a tailspin!) and Bob on his axe was ON POINT!
My fave part of the night was his harp playing - he killed it every time - clearly he was in a GREAT mood and it showed, to see Bob dance on stage was just a cherry on top!
The organ playing rocked too and the encore was sweet - he played an extra song in the encore during the Brooklyn show as well so next year, I am most deffinitly catching him in NYC again!
Get some rest Bobby - you deserve it!
GREAT TOUR and a fabulous show in NYC - and next time you sit-down songs people, stay home!

God Bless The Child
What a night in Harlem. From the pre-show dinner with my old Dylan-concert-going-friend-and-former-Yankee-office-collegue Mike and wife (his) at Dinosaur BBQ at 131st and 12th, to the seeing Bob Dylan in concert, to being given a ride back to the 125th Street train station by now Livery Driver but one-time Cincinnati Reds player Miguel---until he busted his leg at 19--this was a night not never to forget.
Dylan? Well, I'll be the son-of-a-preacher-man---the kid brought his A-game on the A-train. It might be be ridiculous to say my 57th Bob Dylan Concert last night was the best Bob Dylan Concert I've ever seen, but I must admit that this morning I'm not yet prepared to say it wasn't.
My God!! If it all it takes is a church or a theatre in a church or whatever to bring out the best in Bob, then I pray he plays only in churches from this point forward. What a night in Rev. Ike's massive church now a theatre inside a church in Harlem. {Q: "You only have one bathroom?" A: "Yes, it's a church, usually people aren't drinking this much.")
Rev. Ike's Church has now been blessed by a Reverend Bob Revival, the likes I haven't seen since my first Dylan show---the carny All-60s-Star Rolling Thunder Review in 1975---or the on-fire Born Again shows of 1980.
Speaking of his Born-Again phase, I personally can't remember the last time I've seen him sing a song from that era, but last night he opens the show by standing sans instrument at the microphone on this stage in a theatre/church combo joint and belts out his now Gospel-classic "Gotta Serve Somebody"! Amen, Reverend Bob's in the house!
The show never slowed from there as Bob went through his set singing with the fire of some (holy?) spirit that had the crowd absolutely stunned. ("I thought he couldn't sing anymore?!?!?!") His set list was interesting, almost a 50-50 split of songs from his 60s glory days and his recent Jake Fate resurrection. But oft-times surprising: it included a personal favorite, but never-heard, "Tomorrow is Such a Long Time" his 1962 Greenwich Village simple, but deadly lovelorn song to an Italy-roaming Suze that never even made it to an album until Greatest Hits Vol. 2 ten years later. And he sang it while playing an acoustic guitar! I haven't seen him play guitar at a concert since late 2001. Some say it's arthritis that moved him to the electric piano that is now an electric organ, but whatever, he also picked up the acoustic guitar to close the show with "Blowin' In The Wind" for a first-ever THIRD encore after rocking the house with fan favorites "Like A Rolling Stone" and "All Along The Watchtower." During these songs, despite having a really good seat, I generally had my back to the stage as I was getting goosebumps watching the faithful have a helluva hallelujah time!
Best show ever? I don't know. All I know is I paid a lot for my ticket and by the end of the show I was asking where I could tithe more.

Thank you, Bob for a stand-out concert.

After shaking off the horrible experience of buying tickets to this show which brought me about an hour of undue anxiety when the website went down, we lucked out with 4th row isle seats which were stellar. Whew! This show was well worth the trip!
With storm warnings forecast in the Syracuse, NY area we packed a bag and got out of Dodge before the snow flakes flew and we made our way to NYC. We parked the car and settled into the Hilton downtown. From there we continued our journey, as we hopped the A train and headed uptown, WAY uptown to Harlem.
With the cold winds blowing we found our way to the United Palace Theater/Church. Once through the ID process to obtain our tickets we grabbed some beers and found our way to our seats. Sat down and said WOW! Take a look around and what you see is a beautifully restored 1930’s theater. My first thought was Moorish architecture, maybe Byzantine, with a little Romanesque, but mostly what I was thinking was how beautiful a theater it is.
After seeing Dylan and the boys in Kingston last Saturday and again at SUNY Oneonta College on Wednesday we knew this was going to be good, but this was one for the books! The show opened with Gotta Serve Somebody and the crowd was on their feet! Bob and the band were just warming up and the crowd was getting into the groove.
You would have never guessed by his energy level that this was the 100th concert of the 2008 tour. Bob and the boys turned it up a notch tonight and gave us a spectacular show. By the time we reached Highway 61 the palace broke loose as everyone stormed the stage.
The sound, absolutely no complaints from where we were sitting. The set list all good choices with good vocal and how very sweet to hear those guitars. What stood out the most here would be: Tomorrow Is A Long Time, Till I Fell In Love With You, Make You Feel My Love, and Honest With Me. Bob’s guitar on Blowin’ In The Wind, very nice, as he brought it all to the end. There was no “same ole, same ole” tonight.
Bob and the boys rocked the palace! The band was tight and Bob was in very good form. Nice guitar work. It was an experience well worth an hour or so of anxiety to purchase tickets.
Hope that Bob and Boys have a Happy Thanksgiving. We’re heading to Worcester to check out Neil Young. Looking forward to the next time Bob and the boys find their way back to our neck of the woods.
Possessed!
If I live to be a thousand, I'll never forget the image of Bob at the outset of this show - at center stage twisting, turning, unleashing 'Gotta Serve Somebody' with elemental passion and fury. He never let up for the rest of the evening. He still has that ability to surprise and challenge us. That's why we love him so, is it not?

My First Time Seeing Bob And It Was Great
It was such an amazing concert...just everything he did was amazing. I'll take a star off because of the idiotic audience. He should have like a test in order for you to go to his shows....(Like a Dylan citizenship exam)
I couldn't believe it. As soon as he started any of his songs from "Modern Times" or when he started "Desolation Row", there was like a mass exodus to the restrooms! Here was Bob Dylan performing for THEM, because THEY payed fro their tickets...but no...going to the bathroom was more important than watching the man go through some of his best material ever.
It was also great to see Bob open with "Gotta Serve Somebody". That was really cool. Though, my favorite part was his harp playing on "'Til I Fell In Love With You". It was just amazing seeing him center stage and doing all that dancing. You could tell he was having a lot of fun...and so was I.
like the rolling stones
I don't go to many concerts these days, but the big names can get me out. The last one I saw was the Stones in Nov. 2006. That was great, and my immediate reaction to this one was that it was in the same class. The rockers were simply fantastic, and the musicality of all the numbers was basically impeccable. Mr. D. showed himself to be a true entertainer, and I was happy to see he was entertaining himself as much as us. 'Desolation Row' was particularly enthralling, just to name one among many. Another thing I was enamored of (in a Platonic sort of way) was his presentation (conscious or unconscious (I like to think it was at least a little conscious)) of his physical being, especially when he rose up on his toes, and when he'd sort of lean and slightly turn a leg. Very rock 'n' roll, very intense, and very, very cool.
I finally got to see my hero!
I'm 17 and have wanted to see bob for quite some time but it's never worked out. When I received the email regarding this show I jumped on the oppurtunity. I wasn't let down. This was an amazing set. He was having the time of his life up there. I hope I'm doing that when I'm 67! My favorites were "Gotta Serve Somebody', "Ain't Talkin'" and "Things Have Changed." This was a great end to a great tour. I hope to see the legend many more times - Ed
I hate knuckleheads

I was fortunate to be in the lower loge, a very good seat, and in the fourth row...Why would some 20-something knuckleheads in the very first row decide to stand and dance in a very spastic way, and obstruct the view of everyone behind them? A woman, probably in her late 60s/early 70s, asked one of the chief knuckleheads to `please sit down.' He didn't do it. Instead he acted like a real knucklehead...There are a lot of women, exhibitionists all, who like to stand up in the first rows of Bob's concerts and dance in a very unattractive way and try draw the crowd's attention, if not Dylan's, to themselves and show their devotion -- to themselves.
As Good As He Has Been For Several Years
He played guitar. He danced. He grooved with the band. His voice had warmth, tone, melody, nuance. He smiled. He played for more than two hours with brief rests. His harmonica and guitar play were spot on and emotionally moving. His keyboard work for the most part provided rhythm and texture. He played and sang as well, and appeared to be feeling as well, as I've seen him in a dozen performances of his I've attended in the past five years.

United Palace Theatre is a great venue. Sound in the orchestra was fine. Starting with Serve Somebody we knew this was going to be special...maybe Bob's way of thanking Rev. Ike for allowing him to play in his church. Diehard fans standing for the whole spectacle. Highlight: Ain't Talkin'. Did anyone notice if Bob had some dental work done? His teeth looked good! Met some fun people before and after the show.

Fantastic Show!!
This was a mesmerizing night. The time from 8:30 to 10:00pm disappeared down the bottomless well of Dylan's genius and the deep groove of one of the best live bands I've ever heard. The last time I saw Bob was 24 years ago on the Petty tour - Things Have Changed, indeed! He was loose, cut a fine figure, rocked the organ. Simply grand. Whatta birthday present for me!
friday nite
love bob.....great song selection, but.....seats in the balcony sucked sound-wise.....we seemed to be surrounded by knuckleheads who were there only because it was some sort of social occasion as opposed to being there to hear and see the music....specially these four preppy, twee knobs who spent the show doing their baby powder blow, drinking rum and cokes and talking until the chorus of 'rolling stone'.....the only song they seemed to know at which time they hooted and flicked their lighters.....complete amateurs.....didnt share my fine weed with these twits.....maybe this behavior is a nyc thing........prospect park show had a better vibe, crowd-wise......maybe it was better down on the floor......love ya, bob!
Sitting in the Balcony
Was a fine concert. The band was extraordinary. Sound was loud, but that's the way they do it. I'm as intense a Dylan fan, and for as long, as about anyone, yet I had trouble making out the lyrics a lot and also even knowing what three songs were. I've always yearned for presentations that included clarity of lyrics. But so be it. I'm sure they're aware of what they're doing. They merely set me off in a different direction...
Was a lot of carnival/circus music last night. Especially Desolation Row. It was an amazing rendition of being on a Merry Go Round or something.
Pretty much gone was the froggy voice. They were in real good form. The bass was great, the lead guitar, the drums, the keyboard. The dancing, the harmonica, the beat, the power.
Sure the fans were plenty devoted. Many, no doubt, chortled at some point during the night. But I did wonder, as people kept getting up to let the beer-buyers back into their seats again and again--hey! Four trips for beers (at eight dollars each)! Did you hear any of the concert, you with the blond hair and the glazed look?
Had opera glasses. The cowboy band looked good. Dylan looked young, sprightly. He has a face that begged for love.
And He Played Just For Us...
Tonight a huge crowd of us gathered on Desolation Row, and Bob Dylan stood on a stage which materialized under him and his band members appeared with all their instruments and equipment in place, and we all found ourselves in a beautiful gilded theatre as The Best gave us Their Very Best.
This was a very special show. From the first song to the last encore, it felt like Bob Dylan walked through my mind and played everything that was in it. "Tomorrow Is A Long Time" was pulled from the decades buried broken dreams of my youth and made fresh by an older wiser voice. A voice that folded me inside out with every song.
Just look at this set list. From the very first notes of "Gotta Serve Somebody," we all knew it was going to be great. We just knew. There was never any hesitation or doubt.
Every song opened new doors and took me on a ride through deep undiscovered tunnels of feeling and never before experienced mystical awareness. Familiar songs, but new places. I have never seen more clearly with my ears.
Although I never have anything but the highest praise for these musicians who can do just about anything, tonight they did something even better. It was as if they were all channeling from the same higher plane as their Leading Man, and then they took us there.
Tonight I felt for the first time in a very long time like everyone who was there really wanted to be there, knew exactly what they were listening too, and knew exactly how great it was. This was the "Website Only" audience. Thank you everyone. You played your part, and you made this show great too.
There was no one there to fractionate this experience, no one there to shake their heads in confusion, no one there to annoy me with their ignorance, and there was no one who expected me to sit down because for all practical purposes, everyone was standing the entire time.
Standing, to absorb as much of the music and the energy into us as possible. Standing, because Bob Dylan was standing. Standing for him, and standing for each other.
I had found my people. And I think Bob Dylan had too. His singing, his harmonica, keyboard, and guitar playing, and the way he moved about the stage, all seemed to take our energy in and shoot appreciation right back at us. He was at his best.
For all of you who wanted to be there but could not, you really were there in spirit.
Next time, we'll levitate the building.
Thank you Bob with all my heart.

Timeless
Tonight was my first show. In my experience Mr. Dylan brings awareness to the touchy area within, that some spend their lives hiding from, where the soul and the natural coincide or at times collide. I would describe the concert as an ineffable empathetic experience. Line after line continually penetrated deep into the limbic area of my brain triggering what seemed like dormant avalanches. I don't know how he summons the courage to express himself in such an open hearted way. Most everyone else chooses the good side or the bad side, instead of portraying the dividedness that we embody to propel us to new heights or to bury us, like he does. He said what I am trying to convey when he sang tonight he sang the line in, "It's Alright Ma" (I'm only bleeding), "he not busy being born is busy dying". Another line that hit me hard tonight in the same song was, "but even the president of the United States must sometimes have to stand naked." This line scares the hell out of me because it feels so true. Nothing is hidden.

Great show! Dylan sounded better than I've heard him sound yet. He was very lively when he moved, had a few really great harmonica parts, and what an opening number! Dylan's current band is incredible as well. Excellent performance.

Just got home - 4+ hours of traveling each way to get to this magnificent venue and Bob! So well worth it! Tremendous energy in the room, starting with Bob strutting to Gotta Serve Somebody. He sure looked like he was having fun! Nothing like seeing him in New York City - my first time doing so. We got an extra song in the encore!
Many songs unrecognizable with altered arrangements/tempos. Bob did a lot of ....well, that whiney nasaly thing he does that makes it hard to understand the lyrics. No problem - it was all good. I checked the set list here!
Rest up Bob - we hope to see you in the Spring. :-) And thanks for the terrific music and passion.
